Your Week Ahead

Week 11 is the last stop in Term 1 for Grade 3 Numeracy, and it is all about pulling everything together. This is your formal assessment week, which means learners will be showing what they have taken in across the full term. The five content areas on the table are Measurement, Patterns Functions and Algebra, Numbers Operations and Relationships, Space and Shape, and Data Handling. That is a broad sweep, so good preparation and a calm classroom go a long way this week.

Coming into this week, learners should have had solid exposure to all five content areas through Weeks 1 to 10. They should be comfortable working with numbers up to at least 500, recognising and extending simple patterns, identifying 2D and 3D shapes, reading basic graphs and pictographs, and working with everyday measurement concepts like length, mass, capacity, and time. If you spotted any gaps during the term, the early days of this week give you a small window to address them before the formal task goes down.
