Who these packs are for
- Foundation Phase teachers whose English offering is Home Language (not FAL)
- Grades 1, 2 and 3 — one DOCX per grade per term (12 files)
- Schools that need a ready term plan to adapt, not a second CAPS rewrite

How to use the packs with CAPS and ATP
- 1. Download the grade and term DOCX you are teaching.
- 2. Open the official English Home Language CAPS statement from the DBE CAPS hub (Foundation Phase languages) for skills, time allocation and assessment.
- 3. Match week order to the ATP your school follows — see the callout below.
- 4. Adapt activities for your class language profile and available readers; keep evidence dated for term reporting.
These hosted DOCX files are planning support uploaded in 2023. They are not a substitute for the official CAPS subject file, ATP, or your district’s directives.
Current ATPs (confirm on the hubs)
DBE still points to the 2023/24 ATPs retained with exclusions (Circular S19 of 2025). For Foundation Phase languages, open the live file from:

Do not assume a separate 2026 ATP rewrite pack — confirm the current English Home Language / languages file and any exclusions on the official hubs.
CAPS statements: DBE CAPS hub — use the official English Home Language Foundation Phase statement from that hub (CAPS123 does not host a separate FP English HL CAPS PDF on this page).
