Grade 3 lesson plans: Term 4 Week 4 (26 to 30 Oct 2026)

For Grade 3 teachers planning the week of Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026 (Term 4 Week 4).

This week we will be finishing the Weeks 3 and 4 Maths block (numbers to 1000, multiplying and dividing, money and time), starting the Life Skills topic Products and processes, and continuing the English FAL theme Feeling calm with the spr- blend, comparative adjectives and publishing a paragraph.

Remember to complete the Maths SBA tasks for Weeks 3 and 4, bring real objects such as a brick, sugar and dried fruit for Life Skills, and put the editing checklist on the board for Tuesday’s English FAL writing. No formal English FAL task falls this week.

Where this week fits

  • Term 4 runs from 6 October to 9 December 2026, so this is the fourth week of the term. There are no public holidays this week.

  • Life Skills: Weeks 1 to 3 of Term 4 were set aside to catch up on Term 3 work. Week 4 starts the new Term 4 topics.
  • English FAL: follow the Week 4 column of the Term 4 ATP.

Pacing note

If your class is behind, do not skip ahead to keep up with these plans. Finish the current topic, carry unfinished work into next week and use the daily mental maths and oral sessions to keep revising. If you are ahead, use the extension activities in each plan.

Other Foundation Phase grades this week: Grade R, Grade 1, Grade 2
