Grade 2 lesson plans: Term 4 Week 4 (26 to 30 Oct 2026)

For Grade 2 teachers planning the week of Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026 (Term 4 Week 4).

This week we will be finishing the Weeks 3 and 4 Maths block (counting to 180, multiplying by 2 and 4, patterns and time), starting the Life Skills topic Our country South Africa, and reading the Queen Amina story in English FAL with the br- and gr- blends.

Remember to complete the Maths SBA oral and written tasks for Weeks 3 and 4, put up a large map of South Africa and a picture of the national flag, and prepare br- and gr- picture cards. Check workbook page numbers against the edition your class uses.

Where this week fits

  • Term 4 runs from 6 October to 9 December 2026, so this is the fourth week of the term. There are no public holidays this week.
  • Mathematics: this is the second week of the Weeks 3 and 4 block in the ATP, so finish the block and its SBA task this week.
  • Life Skills: Weeks 1 to 3 of Term 4 were set aside to catch up on Term 3 work. Week 4 starts the new Term 4 topics.
  • English FAL: follow the Week 4 column of the Term 4 ATP.
