Grade 3 lesson plans: Term 4 Week 5 (2 to 6 Nov 2026)

For Grade 3 teachers planning the week of Monday 2 to Friday 6 November 2026 (Term 4 Week 5).

This week we will be starting the Weeks 5 and 6 Maths block (numbers to 900, fractions, multiplying and dividing, money and data), finishing the Life Skills topic Products and processes with paper mache and drama, and starting the English FAL theme Sadness with the str- blend and paragraph writing.

Remember to plan when you will give the Maths SBA oral and written tasks for Weeks 5 and 6, collect newspaper, flour paste and bowls or balloons for paper mache, and be sensitive during the English FAL theme Sadness, as some learners may have lost someone close. The formal English FAL written task follows in Week 6.

  • Life Skills: this is the second and last week of the topic Products and processes (Weeks 4 and 5). Disasters and what we should do follows in Week 6.

The DBE 2023/2024 ATP page does not list a Grade 3 English FAL Term 4 ATP. The Grade 3 English FAL plan follows the DBE 2022-2023 Grade 3 English FAL Term 4 ATP, which the Western Cape Education Department shares on its ePortal. The workbook pages it lists may differ in your edition of Workbook 2.

Pacing note

If your class is behind, do not skip ahead to keep up with these plans. Finish the current topic, carry unfinished work into next week and use the daily mental maths and oral sessions to keep revising. If you are ahead, use the extension activities in each plan.

Other Foundation Phase grades this week: Grade R, Grade 1, Grade 2
